Transfer Sites

All transfer sites will be closed on July 1st. **Tuesday, December 26th- Swan Lake will be closed due to Boxing Day**

Household garbage must be bagged and placed in the dumpsters.  All other waste needs to be placed in the appropriate pile.  If you are unsure please ask the attendant on site.

Shingles and construction waste is not allowed at the transfer site, this must be taken directly to the Thompson Waster Disposal Grounds located in the Municipality of Thompson

Thompson Waste Disposal Grounds Update

Notice:  Thompson Waste Disposal Grounds Operating hours are as follows:

Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Located 3 miles north of Miami on PR 338 and 1/2 mile west on road 28N

Rates are:  $40.00/1000 kgs and $20.00 minimum (under 1000 kgs)

A reminder that all items need to be separated.  There is an active pit, scrap metal pile, woods pit, cement and white goods (fridges and freezers).  Household garbage needs to be bagged.

Furniture will not be accepted

There is an E-waste container and recycling shed located in Miami.

Recycling

Swan Lakedepot located at Sheffield’s Body Shop – open Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

St. Leon – depot located beside Fire Hall – open at all times

St. Alphonse – depot located in the St. Alphonse Hall Basement – open at all times

Mariapolis – depot located on St. Marie Street – open Wednesday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., bins open at all times

Bruxelles – depot located at the Bruxelles Friendship Centre (across from Marginet’s Food Store) – open at all times

Somerset – depot located at Somerset Villa – bins on the south side – open at all times. 744-2167

What is accepted:

Newsprint and flyers

Magazines

Telephone directories

Boxboard (cereal boxes, chip boxes)

Gable top cartons – rinsed

Steel Cans – rinsed, both ends out, flattened if possible

Aluminum Cans – crushed if possible

PET (#1) Plastics – crushed if possible

HDPE (#2) Plastic containers – rinsed

Glass – clean
