Swan Lake is located on PTH 23, just east of the junction of PTH 34, on the edge of the beautiful Pembina Valley. There are numerous golf courses and fishing spots with in a 30 minute drive. This little prairie town has everything you would need for retirement, to start a business or just for a weekend visit at our lovely camp ground
Our town has a hospital (with 2 doctors), a palliative care unit, Services for Seniors providing Home Care and Meal on Wheels. New businesses are always welcome and we have lots for sale to build homes on. Our services include town water, sewer, a weekly garbage pickup, and an ambulance, paramedics, fire department and a Handi-van. There is a large Community Centre for social events.
Swan Lake has a newer rink and curling rink, both with artificial ice. There are hockey teams from 6 and under all the way up to our senior team (The Swan Lake Cougars). We also have a ball diamond with organized ball for children of all ages and a Belgium Bowling Club that bowls weekly in the summer.
The Lion’s Club has a beautiful campground with 6 serviced lots, which includes a washroom / shower house and a waste disposal station. Nearby is a children’s playground within sight of the campsites.
The two churches in town are the Roman Catholic church with services every week and the United Church with services every 2 weeks. We have an active Seniors Friendship Centre and a Seniors Manor with Life Line that is situated near the ball park.
There are several active service clubs in town, the Legion, the Swan Lake & Area Lion’s, the Leo’s (a youth group (ages 9-18) affiliated with the Lion’s, and the 4-H Youth club (ages 8 – 18). The school, West Mount School Complex has Grades K – 12, as well we have a daycare centre located at the Curling/skating Complex.
Swan Lake has many businesses to accommodate your needs. They include 2 grocery stores which have an abattoir, a bakery and postal service, lumber yard, flooring store, hardware, restaurant, hotel, carwash, insurance agent, 2 hair dressers, memorial stone business and numerous construction companies. To meet your financial needs we have a Credit Union.
